Wat Arun by Sharrie Send Photo to a Friend WAT ARUN: The Temple of Dawn - named after Aruna, Indian god of dawn. A 5 min boat ride (costing 2 baht) from the East side of Chao Phraya River (board at Tha Tian Pier; short walk from Wat Pho & the Royal Palace) will bring you to this monastry with lovely river views. Famous for its 79 m porcelain encrusted central pagoda.
THE GRAND PALACE: An amazing colorful & impressive palace with intricate decorations on all the buildings within its compound. This palace simply shines under the hot sun! It's not everyday one gets such an encounter with so much gold in a city attraction. I think perhaps this is also one of the most photographed palaces in the world! A must see!
