T O K Y O
Tokyo is probably one of the cities I visited most. To simply say I like it is to simplify things. It encompasses
more than that.

Tokyo is a city I feel comfortable to be in but one which I am not contemplating living nor working in. In my
opinion, it's a city best appreciated as a visitor, a regular one, especially.
Tokyo is dynamic. Tokyo is conventional.
Tokyo is ever changing. Tokyo is crowded.
Tokyo is growing. Tokyo is chaotic.

It is in Tokyo that I realise that even though as individual the Japanese conforms to the society, as a whole
they are very dynamic, more so than even the Americans. It's an interesting notion.

The Americans seem to be the very opposite!
This concept is truly interesting to me :-)

THE SPIRIT OF FUJI-SAN

For most travelers, Mount Fuji is Japan. In some ways, Mt. Fuji to
the Japanese is like the Great Wall to the Chinese. It was said
every Chinese ought to climb the Great Wall at least once b4
he/she dies. In the Japanese context, to see Mt. Fuji on a clear day
is every Japanese's wish & fortune.

I've been to Great Wall & seen Mt. Fuji on a clear day many times. I
feel I'm so lucky in this aspect. So much so that I also saw a "copy"
of this holy mountain in Chile (
Volcán Osorno). My real wish... to
see a volcano erupts in person! I missed that by a few days while
on a trip to the Galapagos but I do hope one day I'm lucky enough
to see a volcano comes alive & live to tell about it! That's what I
feel is the true destiny of every volcano! & to witness it happened in
person is the ultimate!
